Project Description

Project Aims– Making AI Accessible to All 

The project’s primary goal is to bridge the gap between AI technology and SME employees by breaking down complex concepts into practical, easy-to-understand knowledge.  

It focuses on: 

  • Demystifying AI – Breaking down complex concepts into simple, practical knowledge that anyone can grasp. 
  • Building Confidence – Helping employees feel comfortable using AI tools in their daily work. 
  • Enhancing Productivity – Showing how AI can streamline processes, save time, and improve decision-making. 
  • Supporting Educators and Trainers – Providing them with the tools to teach AI literacy effectively. 

Beyond benefiting employees, the project also supports educators, trainers, and vocational teachers by providing them with the tools and resources needed to effectively teach AI literacy. This ensures that AI knowledge is not only learned but also widely disseminated within SMEs and vocational education programs, creating a lasting impact on the workforce. 

Project Structure - How the Project Works  

To achieve the defined goals and outcomes, the international project team will collaborate closely with stakeholders and representatives from the target groups to carry out the following work: 

1. Workpackage: Exploration: essential needs and requirements

It focuses on researching and establishing a comprehensive AI Literacy (AIL) framework. This work package involves reviewing existing literature, analyzing current policies, and identifying best practices in AI literacy across multiple sectors. Partners will collaborate to design and pilot surveys, conduct interviews, and organize focus group sessions to gather relevant data and insights. The collected findings will be compiled into a detailed report, which will include recommendations and a structured AI Literacy Skills Framework. This skills set will define the core competencies necessary for AI literacy, serving as a guide for developing future training programs and initiatives.

2. Workpackage: Design and Creation of a “Teaching AId”

This workpackage is dedicated to designing and developing a curriculum for AI Literacy that caters specifically staff without IT/AI expertise. The work starts by identifying key learning objectives, competencies, and skills essential for AI literacy. A structured curriculum framework will be created, covering modules, topics, and assessments aligned with the AIL framework. Partners will also organize a Hackathon to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and exchange of ideas for module creation. Alongside this, interactive teaching materials, active learning tools (including games), and multimedia resources will be developed to support the curriculum. A peer review process will be established to gather feedback and refine the materials. Additionally, an eLibrary will be created to organize and provide easy access to relevant AIL content, ensuring compatibility and accessibility for all users.

3. Workpackage: “A(m)I fit?“ Learning Resources

The focus here is put on the development, customization, and deployment of the "AmI Fit" Digital Learning Platform (DLP), a key tool for delivering the AI Literacy training. This work package begins with selecting and customizing the platform's settings, followed by thorough testing to ensure all functionalities work seamlessly. The AIL Skills Scanner will be integrated into the platform, with continuous review and adjustment. The curriculum and instructional materials developed in the previous will be incorporated into the platform, alongside the creation of quizzes, case studies, and video content to enhance the learning experience. Once the platform is ready, it will be deployed to the target audience, featuring an Open Badge Certification system. The platform’s performance will be monitored, and feedback will be collected for continuous improvement. Pilot participants will provide valuable insights, allowing the team to identify and prioritize necessary enhancements to ensure the platform’s effectiveness.
